Politician reported this on Friday (4/04/2025), citing defense experts.
On Wednesday, Trump launched a series of new rates ranging from 10% to 49% for imports from all countries, depending on what the President of the United States called the principle of reciprocity.
Praising this step as a declaration of economic independence, Trump considers the rate as a step towards the re -balancing of American commercial relations.
Economists around the world have criticized these steps.
According to dozens of diplomats, Parliament members, officials and analysts of the defense industry interviewed by politician, Washington’s last steps can encourage us allies who have been attentive to find alternative partners.
These changes will provide a blow to the United States Defense Industry, the main supplier of global weapons.
“There will be a shortage of supply, respond to each other and allies and other partners that we will respond,” said Bill Greenwalt, a former Pentagon Acquisition Officer to the Media.
He explained: “Some vital supplies will cost much more than those today or will not be available at all.”
Extensive rates, including 20% of imports from the European Union (EU) imports and 10% of Great Britain and Australia goods, can increase the cost of US weapons and interrupt international associations, according to the media.
