Trump claimed in Truth Social that he had “many conversations” with China about the enormous amount of drugs, particularly fentanyl, that he said were being sent to the United States. “But it was in vain. Representatives from China told me that they would impose the maximum penalty, death, on any drug trafficker caught doing this, but unfortunately they never implemented it and the drugs enter our country, mainly via Mexico, at levels never seen before,” he said.
