Trump welcomes the positive spirit of Hamas, perhaps there is an agreement on gas next week

Washington – President Donald Trump said that Hamas responded with a “positive spirit” to the proposed ceasefire in the United States (USA), was a good thing. He told this to reporters in the Air Force.

According to Trump, next week there may be an agreement on the ceasefire of Gaza, but he was not given a briefing regarding the current status of negotiations.

Meanwhile, Israel received a Hamas reaction to a proposal to ceasefire in gas with the details that are currently being considered, the Israeli media reported on Saturday (5/7/2025), quoting Israeli officials.

On the other hand, the Israeli security commander, a group consisting of more than 550 former Israeli senior security officials, wrote a letter to President Trump, who called on his meeting on Monday with the Prime Minister of Israel Binjamin Netanyahu to encourage the end of the Israeli war in Gaza.

“According to our professional assessment, (Israeli military) has long been fulfilling their double mission to dismantle the Hamas government and mainly destroy its military capabilities,” wrote the leader of the group Matan Vilnai.
