Trump’s selfishness could benefit Ukraine – BILD opinion

Donald Trump’s victory in the US elections could have ambiguous consequences for Ukraine. BILD Deputy Editor-in-Chief Paul Ronzheimer believes that Trump is not perceived exclusively in a negative way, not even in President Zelensky’s circle. In his opinion, despite the great risks associated with the unpredictability of the new American president, the situation can open up certain opportunities for kyiv.

Ronzheimer recalls that support for the Biden administration was limited, even regarding the use of Western weapons on Russian territory, which made it difficult for Ukraine to achieve its objectives. In his view, the main reasons also include the lack of trained military personnel and the lack of clear determination in the West.

At the same time, Ukraine supporters hope that Trump’s ego will prevent him from concluding a deal with Putin that is unfavorable to Ukraine, which would entail large territorial losses for kyiv. If such negotiations are rejected, another scenario is possible: the lifting of restrictions on attacks against Russian targets.

Donald Trump’s return to the US presidency may continue to strengthen Israel’s position on the world stage, according to News1. Trump’s support for the Jewish state has always been particularly strong, making him one of the most pro-Israel American leaders in history. Israel was optimistic about his return to the White House, hoping for a resumption of the previous course.

During his last presidential term, Trump took several historic steps in favor of Israel’s security. One of the most important decisions was the transfer of the United States embassy to Jerusalem, which recognized the city as the capital of Israel and strengthened its political status. Trump also withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal, imposing tough sanctions on Tehran, which significantly weakened its position in the field of nuclear weapons. For Israel, which perceives Iran as one of its main threats, this policy was extremely important, especially in the context of current regional tensions.

In addition, Trump initiated the so-called “Abraham Accords,” which became the basis for the normalization of relations between Israel and several Arab countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan. These diplomatic advances have opened new opportunities for economic and technological cooperation, which has a positive impact on regional stability. Israel hopes that Trump’s return will lead to further expansion of this initiative and better relations with other countries in the Arab world.

Another important aspect of his policy was his tough stance towards Iran. Thanks to economic sanctions imposed by Trump, Iran has faced financial difficulties, limiting its ability to support radical groups in the region such as Hezbollah and Hamas. For Israel, which sees Iran as an existential threat, that policy is vital.

Economic cooperation between the United States and Israel has also strengthened significantly under Trump. He supported American investment in the Israeli economy and actively developed cooperation in areas such as high technology, medicine and defense. These efforts created jobs and strengthened the country’s economy, especially in critical industries.

Additionally, Trump has spoken out against prejudice in international organizations such as the UN, which often criticize Israel. He withdrew the United States from the UN Human Rights Council, citing its anti-Israel stance, which became an important diplomatic support for Israel.

Experts say Trump’s return could strengthen Israel’s diplomatic defense and continue its efforts to strengthen the Jewish state’s security.
