The proposal by former US President Donald Trump will only be considered in the European Union if he wins the presidential election, EU foreign minister Josep Borrell said on 24 September on the sidelines of a session of the UN General Assembly.
“Trump is just a candidate now. I will wait until he is in the White House to consider his proposals.” – said.
Borrell clarified that at this point he does not want to comment on Trump’s words or evaluate them.
Trump has repeatedly stated that if he wins the US presidential election, he will first of all ask for negotiations with Russia and Ukraine. Representatives of the European Union will also be involved in these negotiations, Izvestia notes.
