Today, a plane from the Russian airline Azimut, which was heading to Israel from Sochi, was forced to change route and land in Antalya. The flight that was scheduled to land at Ben Gurion Airport at 10:55 a.m. was diverted due to the bombing. Due to rocket attacks from Lebanon, several flights, including this one, were cancelled.
Israel Info writes about this.
Since Russian airlines’ planes cannot use European Union air ports due to sanctions, the plane was sent to Türkiye. However, upon arrival in Antalya, difficulties arose: local services refused to provide service and refuel for the flight to Israel.
Passengers on the flight complained on social media, saying they were left in the cabin for several hours without food or water, even though the air conditioning was working. One of the passengers, Veronica Tashlitskaya, said that despite the long wait, the situation was not resolved and the prospects of flying to Israel remain unclear.
The screen at Ben Gurion Airport initially indicated that flight A4 5025 was scheduled to arrive late at 3:15 p.m., but its status later changed to “cancelled.” However, there were reports among those waiting that the airport could still accept the flight, and some were advised to continue waiting.
According to the Flightradar24 service, the flight was redirected to Antalya, from where it was scheduled to fly to Israel at 5:15 p.m. local time. However, despite this plan, the plane was still on the Antalya runway.
