In Moscow, the turnout for the elections to the City Duma reached 40%. This was announced by the capital’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, on September 8 at a meeting to discuss the preliminary results of the single voting day.
“As a result, the turnout reached 40%. This is a lot for Moscow, almost twice as much as in 2019… Of course, I am grateful to Muscovites for this event.” – said.
Sobyanin also said that according to preliminary data, United Russia is winning in 80% of the electoral districts. We can speak of a convincing victory, he said.
The mayor of Moscow also said that the elections were held in a regular and organized manner.
“There were around 300 DDoS attacks on the e-voting system, but it survived and functioned normally, without any failures or delays, even during peak loads.” – Sobyanin said during the meeting.
On the same day, the Moscow City Election Commission announced the preliminary results of electronic voting in the elections to the Moscow City Duma. According to the results of electronic voting, the United Russia party, according to preliminary data, won 38 out of 45 seats in the Moscow City Duma. Candidates from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation received three mandates, elected from the New People and Just Russia – For Truth (SRZP) parties – one each. Self-appointed candidates received two mandates each.
