Renaissance will debate its congress on Thursday in the executive office
Renaissance will have an executive office on Thursday afternoon dedicated to the preparation of its congress, while Elisabeth Borne is the only declared candidate for the party’s presidency, awaiting a possible competition from Gabriel Attal. According to the statutes of the Renaissance, the party must hold a congress before November 30.
Elisabeth Borne has already declared herself a candidate to succeed Stéphane Séjourné as secretary general. The only candidate, Stéphane Séjourné, was elected to this position in September 2022, during the transformation of the La République en Marche party into Renaissance.

According to the party’s statutes, the general secretary is elected for three years by the members of the national council, the party’s parliament. The deputies must elect 150 members of the national council who will have the right to vote, as well as the members of the executive board, the presidents of the departmental assembly and the members of the assembly board of the party’s territories.
