Two Delta planes collide on the runway at Atlanta airport – CBS

Two Delta planes collided on the runway at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, Georgia. CBS reports this with reference to the FAA.

An investigation is underway after a Delta plane collided with an Endeavor Air flight on the runway at Atlanta International Airport.

“Delta Air Lines Flight 295, an Airbus A350, was taxiing for takeoff for Tokyo, Japan, shortly after 10 a.m. when its wingtip struck the tail of Endeavour Air Flight 5526. The Endeavour aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ900, was headed to Lafayette, Louisiana, the Federal Aviation Administration said.” – the television channel reports.

Delta said there were 221 passengers on board the flight bound for the Japanese capital, while there were 56 people on board the flight bound for Louisiana.

A spokesman for Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport said there were no reports of injuries.

Delta Airlines said passengers will be accommodated on “alternative flights.”

The airport said the incident had virtually no impact on the airport’s operations.

It should be noted that Endeavour Air is a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines.
