Civil Guard abandons drug cache at mouth of Guadalquivir and arrests four crew members of drug boat
They risk their lives to try to escape the action of the police, but they also put at risk those of the security forces. This is what happened in Cadiz in the early hours of this Monday when Four drug traffickers were trying to unload 4.5 tons of hashish at the mouth of the Guadalquivir.
It was the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard the one who received an alert about a drug boat heading towards the mouth of the Guadalquivir River, at which time a device was organized both by land and sea.
Officers followed the boat to the Bonanza dock, Sanlucar, where it was intercepted and its four occupants were arrested. Two of them had to be rescued because they had jumped from the boat with the intention of fleeing. One of them had to be hospitalized because he was suffering symptoms of hypothermia.
Inside the drug ship, a total of 138 bales of hashish with an approximate weight of 5,400 kilos. The boat is a narco-boat 12 meters in length with two 425 hp Yamaha engines, since the third one came loose and fell into the sea during the intervention.
The detainees and the hashish have already been transferred to the offices of the Civil Guard Command of Cadiz for the appropriate procedures. The investigation remains open and Further arrests are not excluded.
