On November 4 of this year, the next meeting of the Presidium of the Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ARVK) was held.

Speaking at the meeting, the president of the College, Anar Bagirov, reported on the current activities of the Presidium.
According to the agenda of the meeting, the swearing-in ceremony was held for four candidates to the Bar who successfully completed the qualifying examinations and mandatory training for admission to the Bar, a doctor of legal sciences for admission as a member of the ARVK, as well as the request to resume their activity. A lawyer suspended for being in public service was considered positive, they were given certificates and they were wished success in their future activities.
Later at the meeting the request of the Faculty of Law of Baku State University on granting financial support to students who will participate in the international judicial competition “Philip C. Jessup” was considered. The Presidium made a positive decision regarding the provision of adequate financial support.
In addition, relevant decisions were made after considering the appeals of two lawyers whose legal activities were suspended, the transfer of some lawyers to other legal organizations, the cessation of legal activity of one lawyer, as well as the exemption from membership of two lawyers fee for a certain period of time.
Furthermore, at the meeting the Presidium adopted a decision on the creation of the “Executive Law” Committee and the “Deontology” Committee. It was noted that the “Deontology” Committee was created with the purpose of investigating the moral values and ethical standards necessary for the practice of the legal profession. The goal of the creation of the “Executive Law” Committee is to expand the participation of lawyers in the discussion and resolution of problems encountered in the practice of the execution of judicial decisions in the country, to achieve the formation of executive procedures in accordance with the demands of the modern era, and achieve the maximum involvement of the lawyer’s potential in theoretical and experimental research. Pasha Safarov, member of the Disciplinary Commission of Lawyers, head of Law Office No. 26 of the city of Baku, was elected a member of the Committee “Deontology”, and Elshan Safarov, member of the Disciplinary Commission of Lawyers, was elected chairman of the Committee the “Executive Law” Committee.
During the meeting, the opinions of the Lawyer Disciplinary Commission were reviewed and 2 lawyers were reprimanded, 2 lawyers were reprimanded, 2 lawyers were reprimanded, and 1 lawyer was suspended for 1 year due to disciplinary violations committed by the Presidium .
In the end, other important issues related to the College’s activity were considered.
