Turkey’s Interior Ministry has announced that the president of Tunceli City Municipality, Cevdet Konak, and the president of that city’s Ovacik District Municipality, Mustafa Sarıgül, have been removed from their positions.

Oku.Az reports that the Turkish Ministry of the Interior published information about it on the social network “X”.

“The Tunceli Prosecutor’s Office opened criminal proceedings against the mayor of Tunceli, Cevdet Konak, from the People’s Party for Equality and Democracy, and Mustafa Sarıgül, mayor of Ovacık, from the Republican People’s Party, accused of “belonging to a armed terrorist organization”, – the information states.
