In the Priozersky district of the Leningrad region, a woman and her husband died as a result of a gas cylinder explosion that followed a fire in their house, the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region reported.
According to the department, the incident occurred during the day in one of the houses in the village of Zamosc. Police and rescuers arriving at the scene found two damaged gas cylinders, a moonshine still and other damaged household appliances.
“The Priozersk city investigation department of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Leningrad region is conducting a preliminary investigation into the explosion of a gas cylinder in the village of Zamostye, Priozersk district, Leningrad region, which resulted in the death of a woman born in 1960 and a man born in 1962,” — the department said in a statement.
