Two regions in northwestern Ukraine are currently without electricity. The operator announces a drone attack against an energy facility.
“As a result of an attack by Russian unmanned aerial vehicles on an electrical installation in the Zhytomyr region, the Zhytomyr and Rivne regions were partially isolated.” – reports Ukrenergo.
Emergency restoration works will begin as soon as security conditions allow, the Ukrainian energy system operator added.
According to him, no power outages are planned in other regions of the country on November 7, but the company asks to save during the morning and evening rush hours (from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.). Energoatom previously reported that all nine units of the three nuclear power plants controlled by kyiv are operational. Its capacity is 7.8 GW.
This year, the Russian military carried out retaliatory attacks against Ukraine’s energy system and destroyed power units, mainly thermal power plants with a capacity of 9 GW, they said in kyiv. It is expected that continuous outages in winter during frost could last up to 10 hours.
