A collision between two ships has occurred in the Elizavetinsky rift area in the Rostov region, a representative of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region announced this today, September 5.
“A message was received that in the city of Azov on the Don River, when two ships separated – the motor ship PHRYGIA, flying the flag of Belize, and the motor ship Maya, flying the flag of the Russian Federation, one ship collided with another.” – he told reporters.
According to a department representative, there was no spill of petroleum products and there were no casualties as a result of the emergency.
“The sea route is not blocked” – he added.
The reasons for the incident are still being clarified.
