Two climbers, a man and a woman, had to be immobilized this Sunday around 1:48 p.m. inside Almanzor Peakin Gredos, since they were blocked.
As reported by Operational Room 112 of Castilla y León, they received a warning from a group of climbers who were on Galana Peak and heard two climbers who were descending Almanzor Peak asking for help.
The 112 manager thus transferred this data to the Emergency Coordination Center, which located the victims and mobilized a rescue helicopter with two rescuers, including a nurse.
The Ávila firefighters and the Civil Guard also went to the scene.
Near the 2:08 p.m. one of the stranded climbers calls 112, which immediately transfers him to the Coordination Center. Apparently, the climbers could neither ascend nor descend from the point where they stood.
Once they have located the exact point of the climbers, the rescuers descend and confirm that both are safe. perfect conditionand after a double crane maneuver with a triangle, they carried out the evacuation. The climbers were taken to the Gredos platform.
