Two strong supporters of Israel will not join the new administration.

Re-elected US President Donald Trump has announced that two prominent Israel supporters from his last administration, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, will not join his new administration.

Trump shared the news on his alternative social media platform, Truth Social: “I will not invite former Ambassador Nikki Haley or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo into the Trump Administration now taking shape.” He added: “I thoroughly enjoyed working with them and am grateful for their service to our country.” The message ended with his usual slogan: “Let’s make America great again!”

Haley, who has always supported Israel at the UN, and Pompeo, known for his pro-Israel stance, were important allies of Israel during Trump’s first term. Pompeo even visited the Psagot winery in Judea to launch a wine named after him. In the US it was also reported that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, would not be part of his current team. Thus, Trump’s three most pro-Israel allies will not be part of his decision-making circle as of January 2025.

Haley issued a statement in response: “I am proud to have worked with President Trump to defend the United States at the UN. I wish him and all who will serve every success in strengthening and protecting America over the next four years.”

Cursor previously wrote that the media reported that Trump’s victory was good for Israel, but there was a nuance.
