Two-time Olympic champion Otis Davis of the United States has died.

Oku.Az reports this with reference to Sport-express.ru.

The athlete died at the age of 92.

It is worth noting that Otis Davis entered the history of world athletics with his phenomenal achievements. At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, he won two gold medals: in the 400-meter distance and in the 4×400-meter relay. His victory in the individual race was a real sensation: Davis beat the race favorite, German Carl Kaufman, in a photo finish with a time of 44.9 seconds. This result was a new world record and remained valid for three years.
