Drones believed to have been launched from Yemen have been seen in the Dead Sea area. The interception of the drones was due to the actions of the IDF Air Force.
The Telegram channel “Alexey Zheleznov” writes about this.
According to media reports, two unmanned aerial vehicles approached the Israeli border in the Jordan Valley. One of the drones was shot down by a fighter jet, the second was probably also neutralized before it could cross the state border.
An IDF spokesperson confirmed the recent interceptions, adding that both UAVs were destroyed before entering Israeli airspace.
Recall that, according to IDF estimates, Hezbollah has around 30% of its initial drone arsenal, despite a series of intensive strikes aimed at destroying the militants’ infrastructure.
During the war, the IDF managed to destroy up to 70% of enemy drone stocks. However, the remaining drones still pose a serious threat to Israel’s security.
Since the start of the war, around 1,300 drones have been launched towards Israel, of which the IDF intercepted around 82%, while 231 drones crashed due to the operational actions of the Israeli army. This highlights the high efficiency of Israeli interception systems.
To weaken Hezbollah’s capabilities, the IDF systematically attacked key facilities related to weapons development and storage. In recent months, the Israeli army has attacked 54 drone warehouses, 24 missile launch sites, 8 production facilities and 7 large arsenals.
Despite progress in destroying infrastructure and resources, attacks on personnel involved in drone operations and launches have so far been limited, with only around 10% of militants responsible for drone operations eliminated. One of the IDF’s major successes was the dismissal of the commander of unit 127, which oversaw Hezbollah drone launches.
This development, according to the army, has caused serious damage to the command and reduces the possible readiness of the militants for large-scale attacks.
