UK Crime Minister’s handbag stolen at police conference

British Crime, Policing and Fire Minister Diana Johnson was robbed during a conference with police officers last Tuesday. Specifically, they stole her bag.

Johnson delivered a speech at a conference of the Association of Police Commissioners in which he warned of an “epidemic of anti-social behaviour, theft and shoplifting” that the current Labour government inherited from the previous Conservative government, the Financial Times has revealed.

The British newspaper also reported that a 56-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the theft of the bag. The conference was held at a four-star hotel on the outskirts of Kenilworth in the Midlands. The man was released on bail.

The Home Office confirmed that Johnson had his belongings stolen.
