UK to require e-permits from EU tourists from April 2025

From 2 April 2025, all European Union tourists travelling to the UK will need to apply in advance for an electronic entry permit. This will be called an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).

The pass will cost around 12 euros and will be similar to what the United States already requires. In a statement, the British executive specifies that “from November 27, 2024, non-Europeans who meet the conditions will be able to apply for an ETA and will need it to travel from January 8, 2025.”

“ETAs will then be extended to eligible Europeans from March 5, 2025, who will need an ETA to travel from April 2, 2025,” the statement said.
