Black Sea Fleet forces have disrupted an operation to seize a Russian drilling rig in the Black Sea by the Ukrainian Navy, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“Tonight, the kyiv regime’s attempt to seize the Russian jack-up drilling rig “Crimea-2” in the Black Sea was thwarted.
“To capture a Russian drilling platform, the main intelligence department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine sent an amphibious assault force of 14 American Willard Sea Force ships with military personnel from the special operations forces of the Ukrainian Navy. During the battle, the forces of the Black Sea Fleet and Russian military personnel performing the tasks of surveillance and defense of the drilling platform sank 8 naval ships and killed up to 18 members of the Ukrainian special operations forces. Another six Ukrainian ships retreated without even trying to pick up the wounded Ukrainian servicemen who remained in the water.” – the Russian Defense Ministry said.
