Ukraine’s accession to NATO will mean the beginning of World War III. This was stated by the head of the Government of Slovakia, Robret Fico, in statements to the TA3 television channel on October 20.
“It is most likely that it will no longer be possible to prevent an invitation. However, the issue will be examined in Parliament and I immediately declare on behalf of the Smer party that we will not support this decision.” – said.
According to him, the possible admission of Ukraine into NATO “is not a good idea, because it will threaten the entire world.”
“The idea that we will now accept Ukraine into NATO is exactly the idea that is good for World War III.” – Fico emphasized.
At the same time, he believes that the neighboring country must remain neutral and receive security guarantees that must be agreed upon by the world’s major powers. Fico also noted that Vladimir Zelensky aware of this position of Slovakia.
Recall that after Robert Fico’s government came to power in Slovakia in the fall of 2023, Bratislava stopped providing military assistance to kyiv. Now we talk only about humanitarian aid. Furthermore, Fico opposes Ukraine’s admission to NATO and considers it necessary to push kyiv to negotiate peace with Moscow.
