Military observer Vadim Kushnikov, representing the Military portal, commented on the recent leak of data on the location of the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which became available on Google maps. In his opinion, this fact should not be exaggerated: Google is not the only resource that publishes this type of information, since similar images can be found on other platforms.
Kushnikov highlighted an important aspect: the frequency with which images on the maps are updated. Some regions are updated at intervals of several years, which means that the information provided quickly becomes outdated and does not pose a serious security risk. In 2022, experts already paid attention to updated images of military facilities on Google maps, and the situation has practically not changed since then.
The expert believed that there should be a stable mechanism of interaction between the State, defense structures and companies that collect and process satellite data. He believes that access to information related to critical objects should be limited or deleted as soon as possible, if possible, to prevent leaks.
The Center for Combating Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine stated that it had already contacted Google representatives to resolve the issue. However, at the time of the appeal, representatives of the corporation were outside the work process and promised to consider the issue in the near future.
Kursor previously wrote that DPRK soldiers will face serious problems in battles against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The DPRK army will not be able to effectively resist the Armed Forces of Ukraine for several important reasons.
