The Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs responded quite clearly to the proposal of the country’s authorities to increase taxes: businessmen are against it and are confident that this measure will only contribute to the destruction of businesses along with the growth of the informal sector. This is stated in the association’s official statement.
EADaily reminds that previously the head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine Sergey Marchenko recognized the depletion of funding sources for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In this sense, it is necessary to increase taxes in the country.
“An increase in rates is a pressure on honest businesses, an increase in the parallel sector of the economy, which, according to the calculations of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, has already reached 40% and is not taxed at all, and a step towards the destruction of businesses in Ukraine,” — confident in the Business Union.
Pro-independence businessmen trust in the need to reduce public spending and review the minimum wage. The latter, the Union clarified, “does not correspond to the market and the fact of payments to employees”.
“A stable and predictable fiscal policy means employment and payment of taxes to the country’s budget… The Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs and the Federation of Employers of Ukraine point out that today it is worth focusing on reducing the administrative burden and following business without interfering in the work of white companies”, – say Ukrainian businessmen.
On September 17, the Ukrainian parliament already supported the law on tax increases in first reading. Thus, the military tax will increase from 1.5% to 5%, it is planned to increase taxes for certain groups of people and entrepreneurs, along with a 50% tax on banking profits.
