kyiv has admitted that Russian units of the Vostok group have taken full control of the village of Vodyanoye, northeast of Ugledar.
This was reported by the Ukrainian military public website Deep State on Monday, September 9. It notes that further Russian advances threaten the supply of the Ugledar group to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian sources, the key task of the Russian troops in this area is to cut off the route from Ugledar to Bogoyavlenka, along which the main supply route to the city passes. It is located about five kilometers west of Vodyanoye.
The channel stresses that if the route is cut off or brought closer, this will mean an operational cordon by Vugledar, as it will be “suspended” only in logistics along rural roads.
Previously EADaily reported that Russian units of the Vostok group operating in the direction of Ugledar continue to bypass Ugledar from the northeast and west.
