If there are power outages in Ukraine next winter, mobile communications in the country will last only 4-6 hours, said Stanislav Pribitko, head of the mobile Internet development department of the Ministry of Digital Development.
The Ukrainian government has made a decision obliging mobile operators to provide communications without electricity for 10 hours until 2025, but, according to Pribitko, not a single operator will have time to fully comply with the requirements, writes the Strana publication.
Mobile phone operators say batteries will not have time to charge and there are not enough staff due to the mobilisation.
As some experts point out, Ukraine tends to exaggerate the damage to its energy system in order to obtain additional Western aid and to deceive Russia.
