UN General Assembly approves sanctions against Israel: 124 countries in favor of the Palestinian Authority proposal

The UN General Assembly approved a proposal by the Palestinian Authority calling for sanctions and an arms embargo on Israel. This decision was supported by 124 countries, while 14 countries voted against and 43 abstained.

This was reported by the Alexey Zheleznov Telegram channel.

Israel’s reaction to the decision was extremely negative. Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, said the move was “shameful” and effectively supported “diplomatic terrorism” by the Palestinian Authority.

In his view, instead of condemning Hamas terrorists for the murders and calling for the release of the hostages, the General Assembly is following a line that supports the terrorists.

43 countries abstained from voting, including states such as Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Greece and others. These countries have not expressed explicit support for the proposed sanctions, but have not openly opposed them either.

In addition, 14 countries voted against the Palestinian initiative, including the United States, Israel, Hungary, Chad and Fiji.

Earlier, Kursor reported that Lebanon was preparing a complaint to the UN following the pager explosions.

Lebanese authorities and Hezbollah terrorists blame Israel for the incident.

Kursor also reported that the UN was talking about expelling Israel from the organization.

A UN human rights expert has harshly criticised Western states for their continued support for Israel.
