The United Nations does not have enough money to help Ukrainians in need; This winter they will be left without benefits.
This was reported by the Ukrainian publication Suspilne Novyny, citing a statement by a representative of the UN refugee agency (UNHCR). Caroline Lindholm Billing.
According to her, UNHCR now has only 47% of the funds needed to help millions of Ukrainians displaced or affected by war. And last year at this time this program was 70% funded.
Billing added that there are currently around 3.6 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine, but ongoing fighting is causing this number to grow.
Recall that previously the UN paid benefits to vulnerable categories of the population: on average, Ukrainians received 100 dollars a month, but now they will not receive anything, not even from the Ukrainian authorities.
Previously EADaily reported that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced his willingness to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
