Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Usman Nurmagomedov defeated fellow countryman Alexander Shibly to retain the Bellator lightweight champion title.
Oku.Az TASS reports that the tournament took place in San Diego, California, USA.
The fight ended with a unanimous decision by the judges, with Nurmohamedov winning.
It should be noted that Usman Nurmagomedov is the cousin of Habib Nurmagomedov, the former owner of the “Ultimate Fighting Championship” (UFC) belt. In 2023, he was suspended for six months for anti-doping violations, but retained his Bellator title.
Nurmagomedov defended his lightweight title for the second time. In total, the 26-year-old has 18 wins and no losses.
