The lowest figure in the historic series for October

Unemployment increased in all provinces compared to September, led by Segovia with 4.52 percent more (211 unemployed), followed by Burgos, with 3.43 percent (462 more unemployed); Ávila (2.94 percent and 246 unemployed); Zamora (2.78 percent and 235 additional unemployed); Palencia (2.48 percent and 147 unemployed); Soria (2.08 percent and 52 unemployed); León (1.64 percent and 343 unemployed) and Salamanca (1.51 percent and 257 new unemployed), with Valladolid having the smallest increase (0.65 percent and 142 additional unemployed).

However, compared to October 2023, unemployment decreased in all nine provinces, with a particular incidence in Valladolid (-8.49 percent and 2,047 fewer unemployed) and Palencia (-8.43 percent and 559 unemployed less).

In terms of gender, of the 105,391 unemployed registered in October, 63,735 were women, 1,203 more (+1.9%) and 41,656 were men, representing an increase of 892 in the number of unemployed compared to the previous month. (+2.2%). .

In October, unemployment among young people under 25 increased, with 322 more unemployed than at the end of last month (+3.9%), while unemployment among those aged 25 and over increased by 1,773 unemployed. (+1.87%).

As for the number of Social Security affiliates in Castile and León, it increased by 0.4 percent during the month of October, gaining 4,419 affiliates compared to the September figure, bringing the total figure to 989,111 . The regional increase is slightly lower than the increase in the country average, where the figure increased by 0.6 percent, with 134,307 additional affiliates, closing the tenth month of the year with 21,332,513 affiliates.
