Unilever CEO Hein Schumacher cited loss of control over the business as the reason for leaving the Russian consumer goods and food products market. RIA Novosti reports on this today, November 27.
EADaily Remember that in March 2022 the company suspended the export of products to Russia, as well as all investments, media and advertising expenses. In October 2024, the sale of assets in the Russian Federation and Belarus to Arnest took place.
“I did not see in the near future that we could reestablish this control, and this determined the decision to withdraw (from Russia… EADaily)… I discovered that in the last year and a half of work this was perhaps the most difficult decision”, – said Schumacher.
The company also had difficulty moving funds to and from Russia.
