An unusual incident occurred the day before yesterday at Miami International Airport. The passenger gave birth to a healthy baby in the check-in area, not far from the security point. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. when a woman’s water broke near the check-in counter.
An airport employee told 7News they believe the mother was connecting flights to fly to another state when her water broke. He wondered how things would have been different if the baby had been born during the flight.
Video from the scene shows the baby wrapped in a blanket and his mother being helped by emergency personnel. You can then see how the child ends up in his mother’s arms, and the police officer supports her.
“Is he alive? Is he alive? asks one of the emergency team members. His colleague responds enthusiastically: “Yes!” And immediately afterward someone joyfully exclaims: “We’re going to have a boy!”
The 911 operator then began searching for an ambulance to take the new mother and her baby to the hospital.
According to the latest reports, an official report on the condition of the mother and baby has not yet been received. Both were taken to a local hospital for observation and further care.
The unusual incident attracted the attention of many people at the busy airport, where emergency services, security and airport staff worked together to assist in the unexpected birth of a child.
