The Civil Guard intervened until 35 ships dedicated to drug trafficking in the Gulf of Cadiz and the Guadalquivir River throughout the month of Augustfive of them high-speed and 30 smaller ones dedicated to providing fuel and supplies to others with greater power.
As reported this Sunday by the armed institute, five vehicles were also seized, or more than 6,000 kilograms of hashish173,918 packets of tobacco and 47,146 litres of fuel. These interventions are part of the IV Special Security Plan of the Campo de Gibraltar of the Ministry of the Interior to combat drug trafficking along the Andalusian coast and the Guadalquivir riverbed.
Among the different actions carried out within the framework of this operation, the one carried out on August 8 in the towns of Isla Cristina, Ayamonte and Punta Umbría (Huelva) stands out, where interventions were carried out. 1,530 kilos of hashish, 9,500 liters of fuel and 12 boats leisure. On August 25, in the area of Los Caños de Sancti Petri (Chiclana-Cadiz), six other boats and 15,450 liters of fuel were intercepted.
The device was coordinated by the Area Directorate of the Civil Guard of Andalusia and had the participation of the Maritime Service of the Commands of Cadiz and Huelva, the Air Service, the Rapid Action Group and different Citizen Security units of the Commanderies of Huelva, Cadiz and Seville.
