UPNA launches new Erasmus Mundus master’s degree for only 25 students

THE Public University of Navarre (UPNA) will manage 4.7 million euros from the European Union for the implementation of the Erasmus Mundus Master in Advanced Technologies for Sustainable Agriculture (SUSTAGRI), which will be launched during the 2025-26 academic year.

This is the first postgraduate course of its kind in which UPNA participateswhich is also the coordinating institution, informs the teaching center in a press release.

This will allow the 25 students admitted In each edition, obtain a diploma from the Navarrese institution, the Agricultural University of Athens (Greece) and the University of Tras-os Montes and Alto Douro (Portugal).

The duration of the postgraduate course, which has 120 creditslasts two years (4 semesters) and teaching is done in person.

The central objective of SUSTAGRI is to train professionals in the most advanced technologies and methodologies which can be applied to improve the environmental, economic and social sustainability of agriculture.

After obtaining their master’s degree, these people will be able to apply these technologies todaily work on farms to make them more sustainable and competitive, provide assistance and advice to farmers in implementing smart farming systems, advise on reducing the environmental impact of agricultural activities or pursue a career in basic or applied research in industry or academia with subsequent completion of the PhD.

SUSTAGRI also pursues interaction and integration with the productive, commercial and institutional system related to agriculture in the regions where it is taught. In addition, it benefits from the participation of leading universities and research centers located in Europe and the United States.

THE Erasmus Mundus Action supports high-level integrated transnational master’s programmes delivered by an international consortium of higher education institutions from different countries around the world.

It is about excellence programs which must contribute to the integration and internationalization of the European Higher Education Area. They include mandatory physical mobility for all enrolled students and have an ambitious scholarship system of 1,400 euros per month to attract excellent students from all over the world.
