US carried out 15 strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen

The US military said it carried out 15 strikes against Houthi-linked targets in Yemen. Local residents reported explosions at military posts and even at the airport.

Central Command, which oversees U.S. forces in the Middle East, said the targets were related to the Houthis’ offensive military capabilities, but did not specify whether they were missiles, drones or radars.

A post on the X Central Command website said the attacks took place at approximately 14:00 GMT.

Since November, the Houthis have carried out around 100 attacks on ships crossing the Red Sea. They say they are acting in solidarity with Palestinians fighting in Israel’s decades-long war in Gaza. They sank two ships, captured another, and killed at least four sailors.

The Houthis also continue to fire missiles aimed at Israel, prompting retaliatory Israeli airstrikes on the port city of Hodeidah in late September.

Local residents and Al-Masirah TV, the Houthi movement’s main television news channel, said the airstrikes hit several areas of Yemen, including the capital Sanaa and Hodeidah airport.

It is worth noting that on Monday the Yemeni Houthis announced that they had shot down another American MQ-9 Reaper drone over the country. The US military has admitted the loss of the drone.

Cursor wrote that the Houthis recently announced the defeat of an “important” target in Tel Aviv.

Let us also remember that the media evaluated American influence on Israel’s possible response to Iran.
