US ultimatum to Israel: Saudi Arabia made a statement

Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Prince Khaled bin Bandar, has called on the United States to freeze arms sales to Israel if more humanitarian aid does not arrive in the Gaza Strip in the next 30 days. In an interview with the Politico podcast, Prince Khaled emphasized that Washington must keep its words and insist on meeting humanitarian obligations, emphasizing the unique influence the United States has over Israel.

According to the Saudi ambassador, the United States has repeatedly made promises that have not been kept, with disastrous consequences. “No other country has as much influence over Israel as the United States,” he said. He also called on the Biden administration to take a stronger stance and demand a comprehensive ceasefire from Israel in the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.

Prince Khaled’s remarks reflect growing tensions between Saudi Arabia and Israel, despite US efforts to normalize those relations through the Abraham Accords. The ambassador noted that Saudi Arabia doubts the ability of the Israeli strategy to guarantee peace and security in the region. “Israel is under greater threat today than at any time since the 1970s,” he stressed.

Prince Khaled also expressed the view that the regional threat from Iran was diminishing, allowing Saudi Arabia and Iran to move closer in an attempt to ease tensions. When asked about the possibility of blocking the Strait of Hormuz in response to Israeli retaliatory actions against Iranian targets, the ambassador said that while Iran could theoretically resort to such a measure, at the moment it is unlikely.

Previously, Kursor wrote that the Bundestag expressed support for Israel amid the threat to stop the supply of American weapons.
