The Pentagon estimates that 10,000 North Korean troops are deployed to eastern Russia for training.
“Some of these soldiers have already approached Ukraine, and we are increasingly concerned that Russia intends to use these soldiers in combat or in support of military operations against Ukrainian forces in the Russian Kursk region, near the border with Ukraine”. – said Singh.
If the DPRK army enters the battle on Russia’s side, the DPRK will be considered belligerent and its citizens will be legitimate targets for the Ukrainian army, Singh emphasized.
He refused to confirm the presence of North Korean troops in the Kursk region.
“It is likely that they are moving in this direction towards Kursk. But I still don’t have more detailed information,” he said.
