Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution amending the agreement with Tajikistan. The document provides for simplified transit of freight transport through the territories of both countries without the need for permit forms, Sputnik reports.
“To approve the protocol on amendments and additions to the agreement between the government of Uzbekistan and the government of Tajikistan on international road transport, signed on March 9, 2018,” – says the resolution.
The relevant protocol was signed on April 18, 2024 in Dushanbe during President Mirziyoyev’s visit to Tajikistan.
According to it, the transit of freight vehicles through the territories of both states will be carried out without permit forms.
Mirziyoyev instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan to send a notification to the Tajik side on the implementation by Uzbekistan of the internal state procedures necessary for the entry into force of this international treaty.
