Given this circumstance, the local corporation has decided to suspend the awarding of prizes for this competition pending the aforementioned report, communicated on Thursday. Gil also announced that this award will be celebrated publicly only with the winners, without the finalists having a place and within the framework of the City Hall equality awards. “The equality awards, the most important in this department, will have a section to publicly recognize the winners of this competition,” he said.
The council will publish all the texts awarded this year at Beatriu Civera. “As established in the legal opinion report, the rules determine that the short story competition book must be published by both the winners and the finalists,” Gil said.
The advisor explained that she had “spoken to both the winners and the finalists” to inform them of this fact and indicated that “they all gave their consent to be able to include” the writings of Flores Juberías in this book. “Therefore, based on the agreement of all finalists and winners and consensus with them, they will be included in the book,” he added.
