The Provincial Delegation of Cuenca hosted the presentation of the LVIII edition of living nativity scene of Vega del Codornodeclared of Regional Tourist Interest. This event will take place on Saturday, December 21, at 6:30 p.m., in La Cueva and later, the traditional roast potatoes and wine will be distributed to conclude with a popular party.
The president of the Provincial Council, Álvaro Martínez Chana; the delegate of the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha in Cuenca, María Ángeles López; and the Deputy for Environment and Mayor of Vega del Codorno, Rodrigo Molina, were responsible for presenting this year’s poster, made up of several photographs that capture the involvement of the entire municipality in this day.
Martínez Chana emphasized that Vega del Codorno is an example of the fact that the rural environment is “very alive.” For his part, López assured that the Commission is working on the declaration of Asset of Cultural Interest for the living nativity scene “as a way of recognizing the work of an entire village, for almost 60 years, to maintain a singular tradition.”
For his part, Molina explained that around a hundred peoplefrom children to grandparents. Moreover, the enclave where it is carried out is “unique”, since the natural cave generated in the rock makes it incomparable to any other event held in the rest of Spain.
