Venezuela seeks alternatives to oil and exports 156 tons of ball jellyfish to South Korea

Venezuela exported more than 156 tons of cannonball jellyfish to South Korea as part of an initiative to promote non-oil exports and reduce dependence on hydrocarbons, the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture reported Friday. Aquaculture.

Likewise, he stressed that this export is an example of how Venezuela and fishermen “diversifies its export matrix and explore new market opportunities through the sustainable use of cash.

On September 27, Venezuela exported 4.8 tons of fishery productswithout specifying which ones, to the Dutch island of Curaçao within the framework of bilateral trade relations, reported the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

On May 18, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro reported that Venezuela experienced 2% growth in fishing sector exports during the first four months of the year and said it expects, thanks to alliances with China, growth in 2024 in fishing and seafood exports.

He recalled that Venezuela exports 31 marine species to 24 countrieswithout specifying the destinations, figures which – he assured – will continue to grow thanks to business with China, the details of which are unknown.
