Elías López Montero, winemaker and member of the owning family from Bodegas Verum, presented last Monday, November 25 at Vinology Zurbano in Madrid its latest creation: Verum las Tinadas Airén Cuvée Especial CVC, a wine that transcends vintages to focus on the potential of the Airén grape variety.

It burst onto the wine scene with 95 points in the recently published ABC 2025 guide, positioning it among the best wines of Castile-La Mancha. With an exclusive production of 799 bottles and a price of 69 euros, Verum Las Tinadas Airén Cuvée Especial CVC “is a masterful rendition of a historically underrated variety. It is a tribute to tradition and a declaration of intentions: to demonstrate that Airén can compete at the highest level in the world of wine,” according to the winery in a press release.

The independent Airén de Las Tinadas vines were planted in 1950 at 720 meters above sea level in limestone and pebble soil. on the surface which promotes deep root development and homogeneous maturation. This arid vineyard, cultivated organically for decades, is home to a unique ecosystem of microorganisms that give the wine exceptional complexity.

The production is as particular as the wine itself, highlighting refinement with mixed aging in century-old clay jars and new French oak barrels.
