President of Zafar Park, inaugurated today in Baku Ilham AliyevBy decree signed on December 3, 2020, it was created to preserve the memory of the incomparable heroism of the Azerbaijani people in the Patriotic War and the great historical Victory they won, show it to the public and perpetuate the Dear memory of our martyrs.
The territory of Zafar Park, built at number 8 Noyabr Avenue in the capital, has an area of approximately 10 hectares. At the entrance to the park, a 44-meter-high, 22-meter-wide Victory Arch with 44 pillars was built as a symbol of the 44-day Patriotic War.
A memorial monument representing November 8, Victory Day, was erected at the entrance to the park. The monument symbolizes Victory Day and unbreakable unity. Vegetation has been planted around the memorial, reflecting the patterns and decorative elements of Karabakh carpets.
A thematic garden, a waterfall, a Karabakh memory garden and a general viewing platform of the park have also been created in Zafar Park. Rest areas have been built around the garden of memory. The Liberty Flag Plaza was built at the end of the park.
