The president of Vox of the Region of Murcia, Jose Angel Antelosubmitted a motion to the regional parliament on Thursday to “put an end to the pull effect and the irregular arrival of people” with proposals such as the voluntary transfer of illegal immigrants to Brussels. “It is essential that citizens have the opportunity to express themselves. We want them to choose whether they want to continue collaborating with illegal immigration and the problems associated with it, such as the increase in rapes, robberies and assaults, or whether they prefer a policy of security and the elimination of subsidies to NGOs that have become slave ships of the 21st century,” Antelo said at a press conference.
Thus, the political leader was firm in his statements on the current situation of the regional government and his position regarding the illegal immigration recalling that when the coalition government was formed, a clear commitment was included: not to collaborate with illegal immigration or with the mafias that profit from it.
“Unfortunately, the regional government is currently collaborating with illegal immigration, with NGOs and with the mafias that operate in this area,” Antelo said. This situation, according to the Vox leader, was reason enough for his party to leave the regional government.It is not a question of Vox or the Popular Party“This is a crucial issue for the Region of Murcia, for our future and that of our children and grandchildren.”
Then, Antelo was particularly critical of the PP’s decision to sign a agreement in Tenerife which commits the Region of Murcia to welcoming illegal immigrants, even when social services are overwhelmed. “This is the reality and the citizens of the Region must have the opportunity to decide whether or not they accept this situation.”
During his appearance, the president of Vox also warned of a worrying increase in sexual assaults in the region of Murcia, included in the prosecutor’s report for 2023.Rapes have increased by 50%sexual assaults 65% and minors involved in these crimes 80%. If we continue like this, in six years, half of the women in the Region will have been victims of sexual assault. This is the direct responsibility of the PSOE and the PP,” he warned.
Finally, Antelo stressed that Vox would examine in detail the next budgets, especially regarding the financing of NGOs and small centers such as Holy Crosswhile criticizing the Popular Party for keeping the center open, despite signing its closure. In addition, he mentioned that not only is it still operational, but there is even a swimming pool planned. “The Popular Party must choose whether to continue collaborating with illegal immigration and the policies of Pedro Sánchez, or to side with the citizens of the region,” he concluded.
