Emilio del Valle, Vox deputy in Congress, made his position available to the party after promoting PP and Vox to approve the Txapote Law which would benefit 44 members of ETA. Del Valle was the representative of Vox during the presentation to Congress which addressed the transposition of the European directive which included a reduction of sentences for ETA prisoners. Vox voted in favor of the bill during the plenary session of Congress and the legal amendment was adopted unanimously.
In response, the Vox parliamentary group, in a statement, thanked him for his “gesture” and said it had rejected his resignation “taking into account the great work” carried out by Del Valle in parliamentary activity during these years. Spokesperson for Vox in Congress, Pepa Millánhad already recognized this Monday the “error” committed by its parliamentary group by having supported, during its treatment in the Lower House, the reform of the law on the exchange of information on criminal records in the EU, to which an amendment by Sumar had been which, according to the Association of Victims of Terrorism (AVT), could benefit more than 40 ETA detainees.
