Vugar Safarli is dissatisfied again: he wants to get everything back

Vugar Safarli, the imprisoned head of the State Media Development Support Fund (cancelled – ed.), continues his fight for ownership.

According to information from “Qafqazinfo”, the former head of the fund wants to return his 8 confiscated properties.

Recently, the Baku Court of Appeal freed 4 of its 12 state properties from confiscation.

V. Safarli does not agree with that decision and demands the rest of his assets. To this end he appealed to the Supreme Court. In the complaint he wrote that the confiscated assets were not acquired during the crime.

Here is a list of those properties:

– cars of the brands “Mercedes Benz ML 350”, “Volkswagen Tuareg” and “Toyota Land Cruiser”;

– 0.1 hectare land located in Ticran village, Ismayilli district;

– 0.19 hectare land located in Ticran village, Ismayilli district;

– Garden house No. 701 of 192.8 m2, located in Novkhani village, Binagadi district, on a land area of ​​0.223 hectares;

– House with a garden of 291 m2 located in the village of Novkhani, Binagadi region;

– Non-residential area of ​​39 m2 on the first floor of house No. 23 located at Noyabr Avenue No. 8, Khatai District;

– 300,000 manats in the account of one of the banks, 500,000 manats in your son’s account in that bank;

– 200,000 manat deposited in the deposit account of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

An appeal has been initiated. The high court will announce its decision soon.

It should be noted that V. Safarli was the head of the KIVDF in 2009-2020. In 2021, he was prosecuted by the General Anti-Corruption Department under the Attorney General. The former fund manager, found guilty by the Baku Serious Crimes Court, was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months in prison.
