The wage bill increased by 4% year-on-year in the second quarter of the year to place the average wage at 2,353.59 euros. The advance represents an increase of three tenths higher than that recorded at the beginning of the year and keeps the revaluation above the average inflation, which between April and June stood at 3.4%.
The Quarterly Labor Cost Survey (ETCL) published this Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) increases the labor cost per worker per month of the original series by 4.1% to 3,161.60 euros and extends the ascending line that chains 14 quarters of continuous increases and which brought it above 3,000 euros (3,009.87) between January and March for the first time after having progressed by 3.9%.
In both the case of labor costs and wage costs, the statistics mark the best level in both cases during a second quarter since the series began in 2000.
