Kyiv proposed a new round of peace negotiations with Russia for the next week, said President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday.
In a video message posted on X, Zelenski called for “increasing the pace of negotiations” to ensure a permanent world. “This is required to meet at the leadership level,” he said, emphasizing Ukraine’s readiness to do this.
According to Zelenski, the recently appointed Minister of National Security and Defense of Ukraine Ray Umro was those who sent an invitation to Moscow. Last month, he was also the head of negotiations on a delegation in Constantinople.
Previous negotiations held in June
The first round of negotiations on May 16 also led to the exchange of prisoners, the largest so far, but did not even give many results in the termination of Russia’s complete invasion of Ukraine.
In his video, Zelensky called on the Western allies to retreat even more to their sanctions against Russia.
“It is very important that the new EU sanctions package is supported by other free European countries that are currently not belonging to the European Union,” he said.
“We also work in an American orbit. There are agreements with President Trump, which should be implemented as soon as possible, ”he added.
The day before the performance of Zelenski, the EU invested new sanctions on Russia for the purpose of oil and banks. This is the 18th package of sanctions imposed by the EU since February 2022.
Earlier this month, the US president also threatened more strict sanctions against Russia, if no peace agreement was reached within 50 days.
Having written on the social platform of “Truth”, Trump posed a threat in response to Russia, which is currently “completely Funet” Ukraine on the battlefield.
