Warning to Elsa Seyidjahan from the EYB Secretariat

The association created by wordplay in the poem recently performed by honored artist Elza Seyidjahan was influenced by elements of vulgarity and for this reason, it was received with anger and dissatisfaction by the public.

Kulis.az reports that the Secretariat of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union drew Elsa Seyidjahan’s attention to all this and urged her to refrain from such speeches and to include in her lexicon words and expressions that evoke a negative impression.

Representatives of the public, especially the literary community, saw in such material a lack of respect for the general public, a challenge to society, a discredit to literary values and poetry, turning it into an object of laughter, and expressed strong protests against the reputation of Azerbaijani writers’ Union, of which he is a member. The common and true conclusion is that it is unbecoming of a serious artist to use such banal and unpopular methods to attract attention.

Elza Seyidjahan, a member of the organization, was reprimanded by the AYB Secretariat for the above-mentioned points and for damaging the social and literary reputation of the organization to which she belongs.
